MOTD Halftime- Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool

By on February 3, 2013

It is halftime at the Etihad and City’s defense have been surprisingly shaky.  The game started with each side keeping possession in their own halves, but then Liverpool started to attack City’s defense, which seemed surprisingly shaky.  Twenty-one minutes into the half though, City;s David Silva played James Milner clear through down the left, who put in a low cross across the box, which Edin Dzeko passed into the back of the Liverpool net.  The goal was against the run of play, but City did not care.  The lead did not last long though, and in the twenty-ninth minute Javi Garcia failed to clear his line, the ball fell to Liverpool’s new signing Daniel Sturridge who hit a stunning shot passed City goalkeeper Joe Hart into the bottom left corner.  Throughout the rest of the half the run of play was about equal, with the only big chance being a mistake back pass from City’s Milner passing Joe Hart and almost going in.  The second half is sure to be exciting, so look out for my post-match review, right here on Football Every Day!
