Malaga accept Manchester City offer for Navas

Malaga have accepted Manchester City’s offer for winger Jesus Navas, putting Navas on the brink of a move to the Premier League that could be worth as much as 24 million pounds. Navas had previously stated that he would like to move to the Premier League runners-up, and is now set to join former manager Manuel Pelligrini at The Sky Blues.

The 27-year-old was part of Spain’s famous 2010 World Cup winning squad and their successful Euro 2012 squad, and has won over 20 caps for Vincent Del Bousque’s illustrious national side. He will join City as the club’s first major signing of the summer transfer window following the club’s unsuccessful bid defense of the Premier League, which saw them finish second behind rivals Manchester United. Although failing to score a goal in a run of 37 matches last season, the quick right winger is a good dribbler and has the ability to run at opponents.

A statement on the Sevilla website confirmed the bid for Navas, reading: “Jesus Navas leaves Seville for Manchester City.
“Sevilla accepted an offer from the English club on Monday, taking into account the desire of the player, who will now have to pass a medical.

“Navas wants to continue his successful sporting career in English football, more precisely at a club at which he can continue to develop as a footballer, as he has publicly stated on various occasions in recent months.”
