MOTD- Barcelona 3-1 AC Milan

By on November 6, 2013

Despite arguments over whether Barcelona have been playing the “Barca Way” they developed under Pep Guardiola, Messi & Co.  produced an absolute master class performance completely outplay AC Milan. The win puts Gerardo Martino’s side through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, but the home side were strolling as Lionel Messi put them 1-0 up from the penalty spot after Neymar was dragged down in the box.

Barca dominated as usual and Sergio Busquets nodded home from Xavi’s cross to put the Spanish side up 2-0 in the thirty-eighth minute, but Milan somehow managed to pull one back as Kaka’s cut back from the left wing took a deflection of the leg of Gerard Pique and whizzed past the helpless Valdes into the back of the net. But of course, Barca ended up sealing the win, with Messi rounding Abiati and poking it into the back of the net after playing a nice one-two with Fabregas down the left. Thus. Barca sealed their spot in the knockout round and saw off the win.
