MOTD Halftime- Real Madrid 0-0 Barcelona

By on January 30, 2013

HALFTIME- El Clasico has so far lived up to its standards, even with the dull scoreline.  It has been relatively open play, with both sides creating many chances, the most notable of which was a Xavi free kick early in the half.  It rattled of Madrid keeper Diego Lopez’s crossbar and rebounded into the box.  Shortly after that a mistimed back pass by Madrid’s Ricardo Carvalho let Cesc Fabregas in on goal, who then cut it back for Xavi, who’s shot was cleared off the line by Madrid’s Raphael Varane.  Madrid haven’t been low on chances though, with the best chance being a Karim Benzema volley that just went wide.  Madrid’s Mesut Ozil has probably been the best player of the half, picking a few wonderful passes through the Barca back four.  It is hard to see the second half not having a goal or two, so look out for my end of game review, right here on Football Every Day!
