About

There are many budding young football writers but very few jobs in football journalism.  Since January 2013, Football Every Day has been a home for young writers with the talent, enthusiasm and work ethic very much necessary to one day succeed in living the dream of making a living covering the beautiful game.

Football Every Day’s tagline “Emerging football stories from emerging football writers,” isn’t uncommon in the world of football blogging anymore, but we won’t wax lyrical about being alternative; we’ll let our writers’ work do the talking.  We are, however, one of the first and biggest platforms for aspiring journalists.  In November 2014, our work was recognized at the 2014 Football Blogging Awards as we were awarded the Best Young Blogger award as voted for by a judges panel including journalists from The Guardian, The Times, the BBC, Bleacher Report, the Telegraph, and ESPN.

In January 2015 we were featured in the BBC’s Match of the Day Magazine and founder Alex Morgan, an emerging football journalist himself, has been a press accredited reporter for Football Every Day in competitions such as Major League Soccer and the International Champions Cup.

We’re always looking for other young writers to be involved, but at the same time value quality over quantity.  Feel free to tweet to us at @FootballEvryDay or email alex@footballeveryday.co.uk with an example of your work if you are interested in joining our team.  We’ll give you the freedom to write whatever you want, whenever you want to an audience of thousands of weekly readers.  Our goal is to be a place for young writers to develop their skills and use their experience as a stepping stone into football journalism.

Alternatively, if you are simply a football fanatic interested in the latest emerging football news and analysis, sit back and enjoy a daily dose of our thoughts ranging from MLS, football analytics and the UEFA Champions League.

“The strapline for Football Every Day says ‘Emerging football stories from emerging football writers’ and I would say the site looks very professionally put together so would be excited to see what happens when they are fully emerged! Clear navigation, site structure and with everything easy to find this blog is definitely easy to get along with. Football Every Day offers a general unbiased coverage of football which is unusual as club specific blogs tend to be the norm these days.” — Sliding-tackle.com

“It does exactly what it says in the title. Put simply: Football Every Day provides you with your fix of football, every day. Now at the start of its third full season, the website is gaining a reputation as a creative hub for aspiring footy journos. It covers everything from the Championship and above in England to regular updates about MLS side San Jose Earthquakes. Back of the net!” — holidaylettings.co.uk
