MOTD (match of the day)- Newcastle United 3-2 Chelsea

Newcastle United have dramatically beaten Chelsea after going behind while new Newcastle signing Moussa Sissoko made a name for himself.  The game started evenly, with both sides having possession in their halves.  The first big chance of the game came when Chelsea’s Demba Ba broke free, but his shot was straight at Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.  The ball rebounded back off Krul and straight back to Ba, whose header went just wide.  Soon after that Newcastle broke the deadlock, when a Davide Santon cross met the head of Jonas Gutierrez and flew into the back of the net in the fortieth minute.  Newcastle dominated for the rest of the half, but couldn’t score again.  Chelsea started the second half like a completely different side, and started creating many chances.  They got their reward for their dominance when Ashley Cole ventured into the box from the left wing and cut it back to Frank Lampard at the top of the box, who hit a thundering shot into the top left corner.  It got even better for Chelsea though, when an Ivanovic cross reached Torres in the sixty-first minute, who cut it back for Juan Mata, who curled it around Krul into the top left corner of the net.  Chelsea couldn’t put the game to bed though, and they got punished for that in the sixty-seventh minute when Newcastle’s new French signing Yoan Gouffran broke free down the left, and his shot was parried by Petr Cech straight into the path of one of their other French signings, Moussa Sissoko, who passed the ball into the open net.  After that the game became much more open, and neither side could score again until the eightieth-ninth minute when Davide Santon cut the ball back to a unmarked Moussa Sissoko at the top of the box, who shot the ball past Cech to give Newcastle a dramatic three points.
