Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been fined £12,000 by the English Football Association for comments made about referee Simon Beck. He commented on the linesman’s decision of not awarding a penalty for a Steven Caulker foul on Wayne Rooney in United’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in January. Ferguson had appealed against the fine, but the FA’s verdict has gone against the manager.
