Arsenal express intrest in Ashley Williams

By on March 6, 2013

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has expressed interest in Swansea City centre-back Ashley Williams who also attracted interest from Liverpool a few weeks ago. Wenger has reportedly lost faith in Arsenal’s current centre-backs Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker who have allowed fourteen goals in the last ten games. They will be bidding for the twenty-eight year old in the summer, and will cost them in the region of £8 million. Williams recently won the Capital One Cup with Swansea, and has only allowed four goals in Swansea’s last ten matches. The Welsh international moved to Swansea in 2008 from Stockport County for about £400,000 and got his first cap for Wales in 2008 and now captains them.
