MOTD preview- Chelsea vs Steaua Bucuresti

By on March 14, 2013

Chelsea are set to take on Steaua Bucuresti in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 tie, with the Blues looking for a 2-0 win to advance to the Quarterfinals. Steaua won 1-0 in the first leg, scoring a penalty in the thirty-first minute to give them a surprise win in Bucharest. Chelsea have been on below average form only managing to get two wins in their last six games, but this match comes on the back of a good result, a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford. Steaua on the other hand have been on good form, topping Liga 1 and only losing two of their nine Europa League matches so far this campaign. Steaua will be looking to get their top scorer Raul Rusescu on the scoreboard, and Chelsea will be looking for in form Juan Mata to score his eighteenth goal of the season. The odds are against Steaua progressing even with their 1-0 advantage, and the Romanian side will be looking to get a key away goal to force Chelsea to have to score three goals to advance to the Quarterfinals. But whether Steaua to score or not, the match is sure to be exciting, so look out for my halftime and full time reviews, right here on Football Every Day!
