Today there have been two top-flight matches, the English Premier League match between Aston Villa and Sunderland, and the Spanish La Liga match between Real Betis and Deportivo La Coruna.  The final scores were Aston Villa 6-1 Sunderland, with Villa earning an incredible win to take them five points above the relegation zone (is Di Canio(Sunderland manager)’s fortunes turning?), and Real Betis 1-1 Deportivo La Coruna, with Deportivo earning a crucial point to take them out of the drop zone.
