Scott Parker joins Fulham on three-year deal

Fulham have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur’s Scott Parker on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £6 million. Parker, who snubbed Queens Park Rangers and former manager Harry Redknap after Tottenham had agreed a fee for Parker with the Championship side, will join his fifth London club having previously played for Tottenham, Charlton, West Ham, and Chelsea. Although he could have remained in the capital by joining QPR, Parker wanted to stay in the Premier League to reinforce his hopes of retaining a spot in England’s 2014 World Cup side.

Parker played a key role in Tottenham’s Premier League and Europa League campaigns since joining gather club from West Ham in 2010, appeared 50 times in two years for Spurs but has slim chances if first team football following Andreas Villas-Boas’s summer acquisitions of Etienne Capoue and Paulinho

The 32-year-old said: I’m delighted to be joining Fulham and I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates at training on Tuesday morning,” said Parker, who has won 18 caps for England since making his debut in 2003.

“Fulham are an established Premier League club and I look forward to trying to help the team progress even further over the next three years.”
