MOTD preview: Arsenal v Borussia Dortmund

By on October 22, 2013

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping his side produce some of the form they have been recently showing the Premier League as they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Uefa Champions League Group F.  With the Gunners sitting atop of the Premier League table, Dortmund will face a tough task at the Emirates after winning only four of their last seven matches in all competitions.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are second in the Bundesliga but sit in third place in Group F following a 2-1 defeat to Napoli in the opening round, while Arsenal have been undefeated in Europe this season.  But the win could go either way, as proved when the side’s last met in 2011 in the Champions League group stage, Arsenal coming out 2-1 victors in London despite being held to a 1-1 draw in Germany.  Yet both sides have improved leaps and bounds since then, with Dortmund finishing as runners-up in the 2012/13 Champions League and Arsenal finishing four in last season’s Premier League.  But whichever side comes out on top, expect the match to be very exciting, so look out for our full time report right here on Football Every Day!
