Kuwaiti referee fights players ahead of red card rampage

By on October 25, 2013

Al Nasr were less than a minute away from a good win over Al Arabi in the Kuwait Premier League, until referee Saad Al Fadhli had the nerve to award Al Arabi a stonewall penalty in the dying seconds of the match.

Thus, chaos followed.  The Al Nasr players surrounded Al Fadhli, who let fly with his fists, smacking Al Fadhi No11 Abdulaziz Farraj to the floor and kicking the winger when after he had pulled himself up.  Al Fadhli then proceeded to somewhat unfairly send of Farraj, before giving the red card to two more Al Fadhli players behind the backs of three of his assistant referees.  Astonishingly, Al Fadhli was able to regain control of the match long enough for Al Arabi to bury the penalty, but immediately after the restart Al Fadhli’s Zabn Al Enazi purposely slammed the ball at Al Fadhli.

The No9 was then sent off, allowing the match to end.  The result was officially 4-1 in the favor of Al Arabi despite only two goals actually being scored, meaning that so many Al Fadhli players were sent off the scoreline defaulted to a heavy win for the away side.
