FIFA reveal Puskas Award shortlist

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s overhead goal verses England is among nine other wonder goals listed in Fifa’s Puskas Award shortlist for goal of the year.   Zlatan’s stunning thirty-yard bicycle-kick during his four-goal performance against England almost exactly a year ago stands alongside Neymar’s volley against Japan in the Confederations Cup while the best goals from both men and women competitions across the world in also feature in the shortlist.

The award was won by Slovakia’s Miroslav Stoch in 2012 and decided by public voting cast by FIFA.com and francefootball.fr up until December 9th, after which Fifa will stage a second round of votes among the top three most voted for goals.  The victor will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala on January 13th alongside the unveiling of the winner of the Ballon d’Or, IFA World Coach of the Year, and the Fifa World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football award.  Fifa’s Fifa FIFPro World XI, the Fifa Presidential Award and the Fifa Fair Play Award will also be presented during the gala.
